The path was crossed by fires in August 2017, which made difficult to reach it due to the presence of trunks and the disappearance of CAI signage.

The route starts from the village of San Martino of Cava dei Tirreni, where you can get by car or by CSTP bus line departing from Cava de Tirreni.

Description

From San Martino di Cava del Tirreni (350 m) follow the road leading to Hermitage. After passing the last bus stop, continue turning to the left for a small climb on a cemented stretch. Go through the last dwellings, following a small trail. Then turn left to a dirt road, then, after a few meters, again deviate to the left, climbing for the path that continues turning continuously. Crossing a vast chestnut tree, you reach the “Fontana della Sgarrupa” (m 878). From here, the route continues at the same altitude, then continue on dirt road to Le Chiancolelle (m 740), where the trail ends at the intersection with the Upper Trail of the Chain of Monti Lattari.
